All clients who require medication administration needs to meet the following 3 requirements:

  1. Blister Packagesmedications that are to be administered by a HSW MUST be in blister packages. Provincial Homecare’s RN will visit each client to ensure that medications are in blister packages and can assist the client, the caregiver and family to obtain these medications blister packages from the pharmacy.
  2. Medication Administration Record (MAR)sheets are to be generated and provided by the client’s pharmacy. There is no charge for this record sheet. HSW’s are to use this sheet to record the date/time when medications are administered.
  3. Medication Information Sheetsprovide information on the medications being given to the client. Again these sheets are generated and provided by the client’s pharmacy.
